The University of Pisa, supported by ERC Starting Grant "ConFine: Concentrations and Fine Properties of Measures Satisfying a PDE Constraint" under the direction of Prof. Adolfo Arroyo-Rabasa, announces the public selection for the assignment of two PhD positions in the Theory of compensation for partial differential equations in geometric and variational problems at the Department of Mathematics.

Position Description
Successful candidates will learn and contribute to research projects focused on one or more of the following areas:
Calculus of Variations (Young measures, PDE restrictions, rigidity estimates)
Fourier Analysis (in relation to compensated compactness)
Geometric Measure Theory (structure of varifolds, conjectures related to metric currents)
Partial Differential Equations (compensated compactness, compensated regularity, Korn-type inequalities)
